1500年の歴史を持つ「越前和紙」と、約1400年の歴史を誇る「越前瓦」。
暮らしを彩る「クラフト& インテリア」をテーマに、福井を代表する2つのものづくりの現場を巡るRENEW限定の特別ツアーです。
越前和紙では、職人の手仕事から生まれる柔らかな風合いや美しさを、越前瓦では、高温の窯で焼き上げられる力強いものづくりの現場をご覧いただきます。

古民家再生がつくる産地の未来 ― 眼鏡と和紙のまちづくりツアー
ものづくりのまちには、工芸だけでなく、その土地を面白くしようと動く人たちがいます。本ツアーは、産地で「地域を盛り上げる担い手」をたずね、眼鏡づくりの現場から、宿やシェアスペースを通したまちづくり、クリエイティブな活動までにふれるRENEW限定の特別プログラムです。
長年地域の眼鏡産業を支える沢正眼鏡の工房を見学し、シェアスペース／シェアハウスへ生まれ変わった「シェアスペース SAWA/サワショウ邸」へ。最後は越前和紙の工芸宿「SUKU」の離れに立ち寄り、“宿を通したまちづくり”のお話を直接うかがいます。工芸を“つくる”だけでなく、まちを“動かす”人々の想いにふれる時間をお楽しみください。

1500年の歴史を持つ「越前漆器」と、700年の歴史を誇る「越前打刃物」。
福井が世界に誇る2つの伝統的工芸品の産地を巡り、それぞれの工房で受け継がれてきた職人の手仕事に触れるRENEW限定の特別ツアーです。
漆器づくりでは、幾重もの工程を重ねながら美しい器を生み出す繊細な技を、打刃物づくりでは、真っ赤に熱した鋼を鍛え上げる迫力ある鍛造の現場をご覧いただきます。

Tsuchinao Japanware Lacquer experience & Hacoa Factory Tour
Tsuchinao and Hacoa are leading producers in the area and are stellar examples of how traditional crafts have evolved.
Where Tradition Inspires Design
Tsuchinao Japanware Lacquer Workshop:
You will have the opportunity to experience applying lacquer to a wooden plate (11.5cm). You will choose from three colors of lacquer—gray, navy, and khaki—to apply to the plate with a textured surface created by sprinkling powder on it. The finished plate will be dried at our facility and sent to you at a later date.
Hacoa Factory Tour:
Let's tour a woodworking factory known for its stylish products. The process of lacquerware begins here with the production of box-type lacquerware and trays. Hacoa emerged from humble beginnings, first producing wooden bases for Echizen lacquerware companies before becoming a lifestyle brand powerhouse.

Echizen Washi Workshop Tour
Experience 1,500 years of Washi (Japanese paper) making heritage with your own hands. This special tour takes you through the production area of "Echizen Washi," a traditional craft Fukui proudly shares with the world, allowing you to experience traditional techniques firsthand.
An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour. Enjoy an intensive 3-hour journey experiencing the charm of Echizen Washi, including a factory tour at Shimizu Shiko, followed by a Goshuin-cho (stamp book) making and a Suminagashi (paper marbling) workshop at Igarashi Seishi, and a visit to Otaki Shrine to learn about the god of Echizen Washi.

This special tour explores two distinct crafts of Echizen—Echizen Kawara (roof tiles) and Echizen Uchihamono (forged blades)—both deeply connected to the power of fire.
An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour. Experience the dynamic manufacturing sites where traditional techniques meet modern innovation. The tour also includes a hands-on activity: making a miniature "Onigawara" (Oni tile).
